Natasha Bedingfield

Date: September 25, 2025

Location: Big Night Live, Boston, MA

Last Friday,  British pop-singer Natasha Bedingfield kicked off her mini US tour with a packed show in Boston at Big Night Live. This concert was a last minute decision for me.  I actually bought my ticket the day of the concert, hours before the show started. And the decision was totally worth it!

The last time I saw Natasha was on the 2008 New Kids On The Block Reunion tour.

Opening Act: Leanna Firestone

Nashville native Leanna Firestone opened the concert. She is a singer and songwriter that gained popularity from Tik-Tok in 2020. Leanna now has over 100K followers on Instagram. Her songs were quite unique as they talked a lot about female relationships with their friends and mothers. Accompanied by her keyboard player, Leanna’s acoustic setlist included her songs “Smitten”, “You Didn’t Like Me That Much”, and “Least Favorite Child”. She closed her set with her latest single “Becoming Unbecoming”.

Natasha Bedingfield

At around 9:30 pm, Natasha finally graced the stage with her beautiful presence, wearing a long flowy black dress. Accompanied by a full band, Natasha kicked off her show with her song “Love Like This”. She then got the crowd excited and energized when she sang her hit song, “Pocket Full of Sunshine”.

Her setlist included: “Rollerskate”, “Glory Box”, “Adorable”, “Frogs and Princes”, “Kick It”, “Politik”, “Single”  and “I Bruise Easily”.  She also covered Prince’s “Purple Rain” and Coldplay’s “The Scientist”. Natasha also jokingly said she did not have a jumbotron to show off all the people in love. She even sang a snippet of her brother, Daniel’s upbeat song “Gotta Get Through This”.

I was so excited when she started performing “Soulmate”. It’s one of my favorite songs from her sophomore album “Pocketful of Sunshine”. I love the melody. The lyrics are deep and meaningful. The words definitely hits home and relatable especially for me who is still single. Specifically “if there is a soulmate for everyone, then why am I alone?”. Moreover, Natasha is able to show her vocal range from a soft whisper to reaching the high notes. My other favorite moment was Natasha’s performance of “Weightless”. The song has a motivational message behind it - “not being like anyone else”, “surround yourself with friends who call you superstar”, and “cut the strings” and lift the weight off your shoulders and let go.. Natasha definitely amplified the crowd’s enthusiasm and they sang along. She also sang parts of her song “Wild Horses” before singing another song. However, I wished she sang the full song. I also wished she sing “Little Too Much” and “Can’t Fall Down”.

Of course she closed the show with her two popular songs “Unwritten” and “These Words”. Despite these songs  being released more than 20 years ago, Natasha clearly does not get tired of singing these songs. These songs were major hits for her and helped launch her career. “Unwritten” notably is on the Hills tv soundtrack and “Anyone But You” movie soundtrack. Natasha acknowledges these songs bring nostalgia to her fans. She further builds and feeds on the crowd’s joyfulness as she sings the song and encourages the crowd to sing back to her.

Natasha and Her Fans

Throughout the show, I could tell Natasha was extremely grateful to her fans and the people who showed up to the concert.

She consistently engaged and spoke with the audience. She would touch fans' hands, showing the heart signs with her fingers, looking at fans’ signs and grabbing their phones for selfies/videos. She is incredibly down to earth and personable. Natasha’s show truly created an environment of positivity, peace, love and happy spirits.

Natasha also expressed how when she was starting out in the music industry, the labels wanted her to be like every popstar and dance. But she always pushed back and wanted to be different and just sing. She also talked in the sea of dancing popstars, it was just her and Amy Winehouse. She is thankful that she stuck to her values and that  her fans stuck by her and let her keep doing what she does.

Natasha - The LGBTQ+ Ally

Moreover, I appreciate that Natasha utilized her platform to showcase social justice issues she truly cares about. During the show, She took the time to express her support for LGBTQ+ rights and shared the link to the Human Rights Campaign for fans to donate. Natasha also added an incentive that for fans who donated will be entered into a raffle to win a meet and greet with her after the show.

Verdict

Overall, I enjoyed the concert despite it starting late in the night. This was definitely the first solo female artist concert I have been to in a long time. Natasha is an extremely talented singer and songwriter. She has beautiful vocals. Natasha definitely uplifts the spirits of the audience when she’s onstage. Moreover, Natasha is incredibly humble and wants to make sure she connects with the audience. I will definitely want to see her again!
