Jesse McCartney - The Weightless Tour

Date: October 7, 2025

Location: Orpheum Theater, Boston, MA

Popstar Jesse McCartney played a sold-out concert in Boston on the first full week of October. Boston was Jesse’s fourth stop on his 2025 Weightless Tour. He was supported by Ana Sky. The Weightless Tour is my first Jesse McCartney show. I did not know what to expect. Still, I had a lot of fun. Jesse is such a talented musician and he loves his fans.

I had previously seen his Dreamstreet bandmates Greg and Matt this past summer when they opened for BBMAK. The show took place at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Boston. John Legend had also performed there. I was glad that the show took place at Orpheum because the theater’s acoustics are excellent.

Concert Overview

At 9 pm, Jesse kicked off the show with “Trip” off his “Weightless” album, then continued with “She’s No You” and “Oh My My”.  Jesse was accompanied by a live band of two guitarists and a drummer.

The setlist also included: “Because You Live”, “Right Where You Want Me”, “What If I Missed You”, “Friends”, “New Stage”, “Leavin”, “Shake”, “Selfless”, “It’s Over”, “Dulce”, “Weightless”  and “Better With You”.

Throughout the action-packed concert, Jesse is incredibly engaging with the audience. His level of energy is incredible. Jesse feeds off the audience’s enthusiasm as he performs. He walks and runs  back and forth across the stage. I noticed he makes sure to look at all sections of the crowd, not just the floor, but also the mezzanine and balcony sections. Just to show he appreciates everyone who comes out to see him.

Favorite Songs

Jesse’s acoustic set was definitely a highlight of the night. The acoustic set made the show more personal and intimate. It also provided a needed balance/relief amongst the mix of up-tempo songs. I could tell Jesse has a strong relationship with his band as they sat down together on the steps. During his acoustic set, he sang “Lemonade” off his “New Stage” album and “Just So You Know” from his sophomore album, “Right Where You Want Me”. The acoustic set also gave Jesse an opportunity to not only showcase his vocal range, but also express his soul and emotions on stage.

I also enjoyed his rendition of “Bleeding Love”. Jesse originally co-wrote the song with Ryan Tedder. He was going to add the song to his third album, “Departure” but the label didn’t agree. So Ryan pitched the song to Simon Cowell for Leona Lewis. And the rest is history. “Bleeding Love” ended up being the biggest song Jesse got writing credits for. I’m glad I got to hear his version sung live. The song was a stripped down version where Jesse played the beginnings song on the piano. He then stands up  and brought the band back and continued singing the song. And the crowd sang along. Still “Bleeding Love” was another intimate moment.

After Show VIP Meet and Greet

Jesse’s meet and greet took place after the show. On top of that, the concert was on a weeknight!  My old millennial self was tired and exhausted by the end. The whole concert took so much energy out of me because I spent 1.5 to 2 hours dancing to the music.  Now I have to fix myself up to take a photo and make sure I look presentable. This is why I prefer VIP meet and greets before the show! Especially if there is a professional camera involved and you have less control of the photo’s outcome versus your own cell phone camera.

We VIPs ended up waiting a long time for the meet and greet. And there were over 100 people sitting and waiting. Despite the long wait, I was ecstatic to finally meet Jesse when it was my turn. He was very friendly and welcoming  even though he just performed a 2 hour show. His big smile still remained on his face. I told him I enjoyed the show and knew he was looking right at me during “Beautiful Soul”! I also told him I saw his former bandmates, Greg and Matt earlier this year. We hugged and took a picture. And I’m glad at how the picture turned out!

And I really want to see Jesse again!
