Five - Keep On Movin’ Tour

Date: May 13, 2026

Location: Perth, MA

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Five returned to Perth on the Australia/New Zealand leg of their Keep On Movin’ Tour. The last time Five performed in Perth was in April 2000 during their Invincible Tour. It has been 25 years since the 90s/early 2000s British boyband performed as a five piece. Five reunited a year ago and embarked on a sold out  UK/Ireland tour. Building on the tour’s success , Five decided to extend their tour to Australia and New Zealand . Perth is  the first stop. The tour also planned stops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland.

Purchasing Tickets

As a Five fan since their Disney Channel debut in 1998, I was beyond ecstatic about the group’s reunion and going on tour. Originally,  I traveled to Perth for a family vacation. And the Five tour coincidentally overlapped with my trip!

Four months prior to the show, I scored VIP sound check and floor level 2nd row tickets! I was definitely surprised. Tickets were sold through Ticketek, Australia’s main ticket marketplace. A few weeks later, Tickettek offered VIP meet and greet upgrades. Compared to what I previously paid for boyband concerts in America, these tickets were notably cheaper even with the meet and greet. Tickettek also included purchasing an insurance option for a full refund if you can no longer attend the concert for legitimate specific reasons.

Perth HPC Stadium

The show took place at Perth’s HPC Stadium in Mount Claremont, about 10-15 minutes outside downtown Perth.  Upon arriving, I thought HPC is an odd location because the main concert venue is attached to the athletic center where kids and families take swim classes and gymnastic classes. Despite the location, the venue is significantly large with excellent acoustics and surround sounds. I could definitely hear Five clearly. The only downside was the big barrier between the stage and the seats.

VIP

VIP Soundcheck and early entry was scheduled for 6 pm, about 2.5 hours prior to the show. Since the show took place on a weeknight, I arrived at around 5-5:30 pm in order to avoid rush hour traffic. After checking in, the VIP team brought us into the main concert venue. During soundcheck two songs: “Serious” and “If You’re Gettin’ Down”. They also took questions from fans.

Later, the VIP upgrade fans and I met Five for a photo opportunity. Fortunately, it was a small group of 10 fans. I purposely went last and got time to chat with Ritchie, Scott, Abz, J and Sean. They were definitely surprised when I told them I came all the way from the states. I can happily say that Five are really nice guys and gave nice hugs. They are also funny too, especially Scott and Abz.

I was also grateful we got to use our own phone cameras to take the pictures. That way we get the photos immediately and we can edit the photos and the VIP person takes multiple photos. Also, we were able to record photos and videos during soundcheck. Moreover, I thought VIP was well organized. I appreciated that they took the extra effort to make sure the photo spot had excellent lighting.

DJ Levins

Before the main show started, DJ Levins played a music playlist that consisted of late 90s/early 2000s from Britney Spears, Blue, and BSB.  Definitely a fitting soundtrack to energize the Millenial crowd.

Five

At around 8 pm, the lights dim, the room darkens, and the intro video plays and images of Five appear. The fans start screaming.

Five  opens their show with their debut single, “Slam Dunk The Funk”, electrifying the crowd. Accompanied by  a live band, their setlist included “Shake”, “Got The Feelin’”, “Straight Up Funk”, “Party 555-on-line”, “Rock The Party”, “Serious”, “My Song”, “Everybody Get Up”,  and “Let’s Dance”. Each guy had a moment to shine on lead vocals throughout the show.

The concert definitely ignited millennial boyband nostalgia especially when the boys performed “When The Lights Go Out”. Led by Abz, Five’s choreography was on point. I was amazed at how they were able to transition the song from uptempo to full acoustic. And get the crowd to clap and sing along!

Five further raised the energy with “If Ya Gettin’ Down”. The fans , especially those with floor seats, started dancing. J and Abz definitely brought their rap skills to a whole new level. Both J and Abz can rap and spit out rhymes without taking a breath! And I love how their rapping plays off and complements each other onstage. J and Abz further expanded their rap talents on their cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” along with Rich’s grungy vocals. I was also happy to see Five perform one of my favorite songs, “It’s The Things You Do”. I remember the music video playing on the Disney Channel back in the 90s.  Sean’s raspy voice truly shone on this song paired with Scott’s soulful vocals.

While Five is known for their uptempo, fast and raging songs, I really enjoyed their ballads like their rendition of “Human”, “Invincible” and “Closer To Me”. “Closer to Me” was technically Five’s goodbye song. The song was released towards Five’s breakup in 2001. J said initially he had a hard time listening to this song because of the bad memories. He now has a new appreciation for the song.

The best part of the show  was definitely the performance of my favorite boyband love ballad,  “Until The Time is Through”. This was the song that made me fell in love with Ritchie. And it was amazing to see him showcase his vocal range, singing this song. I never expected to see Ritchie and Five perform “Until The Time is Through” in my lifetime. Moreover, I was in awe and surprised with Scott singing the high notes on the bridge section. It’s amazing his voice could reach those heights after a long hiatus. Both Ritchie and Scott clearly put a lot of passion and heart into the song.

Fittingly, Five closed the show with “Keep On Movin’” , a final celebration of the night. The crowd, still energized, screamed when the music band begin playing the familiar chords. Feeding off the crowd’s enthusiasm, the boys start jumping on stage as Sean starts singing the opening lines. J and Abz follow along, switching from their rap voices to their singing voices.   Despite not having paper streamers and confetti like the UK shows did, Five really know how to move the crowd.

Closing Thoughts

Despite being an action packed show, the boys  took time to engage with the fans and speak about how grateful they are to be back and reunited and performing sold out shows. They also remembered to thank their live band. Five clearly has grown and matured since their break up and implosion in 2001. Onstage, I definitely see a strong brotherhood and support onstage especially when they give each other shoutouts during the songs. I wished the concert did last a little longer and the setlist included “When I Remember When” and “Two Sides Of The Story”. Nevertheless I had a blast at my first Five concert! The music, the excitement and the throwback to the 90s/early 2000s! And I hope Five extends their tour to America!
